At Northern Boiler safety is a CORE business principle. Through our safety culture our employees provide top quality workmanship. We pride ourselves in providing a safe work environment. Northern Boiler has taken steps to help ensure our employees are protected:

  • Northern Boiler has a full time safety Director

  • Participates in the M.U.S.T Safety Program

  • Participates in the Accident Fund's computer based safety training

  • Is an active memeber of the West Michigan Mechanical Contractors Association Safety Team

  • Requires employees to participate in our drug and alcohol policy

  • We maintain our safety manual to the most current OSHA and MIOSHA standards

  • Each employee completes New Employee Safety Training annually

  • Safety Director attends annual safety conferences to stay connected with changing standards

  • Each employee is required to participate in a daily job safety analysis

 

Through our efforts Northern Boiler has been able to stay ahead of the National Safety Statistics for our industry. The national average stays around a 4.2 OSHA incident rate. Northern Boiler consistently beats that average.

Northern Boiler's OSHA Incident Rate:

  • 2016 = 1.84

  • 2015 = 1.67

 

Northern Boiler also maintains an excellent Experience Modification Rate:

  • 2017 = .83

  • 2016 = .89
